Welcome to my website and the next six months of my life!
From April until September I will be cycling 6,000 miles from Key West, Florida to San Francisco, California talking with people about my two year experience in Niger, West Africa as a Peace Corps volunteer and spreading awareness about global hunger issues while raising money for the World Food Program.
It's easy to turn a blind eye when dealing with the problems we have here in America. But outside the borders of the United States rising food prices, climate change, natural disasters, conflicts and wars have created a fatal situation of hunger and poverty in most of the world.
This is a special call out to my sponsor SPOT. Thanks to this amazing device, with the push of a button, I can let my friends and family know that I'm okay and also lets them know exactly where I am. There's a "911" button too, which really helps my mom sleep at night. It's amazing and I really appreciate the way Derek, my contact at SPOT, came through for my effort. Everyone over there has been great and it's an awesome way to stay in contact with friends, family, and my support base, even when I'm not in cell range (which happens a lot).
963 million people do not have enough to eat - more than the populations of USA, Canada and the European Union.
